I awoke from my slumber
Only to find my life bleak and colorless,
a lack of inspiration, curiosity, or Love.
So I arose from my Life,
Only to find the world the same,
People walking to work,
As if their whole mindset
Was to work their under-paid jobs.
People Lying and Cheating,
Every word spoken a Disgust or Insult,
People feeling the pain,
a sharp or blunt object meeting their chests,
The Wise burning for their words,
A World worth living.
So You came in.
Stole my Everything,
Brought me to my knees,
And saved me from it,
But can Paradise exist without the War,
The burn of a bullet it your chest,
Or the Agony of Death?
No, You taught me that,
With Love comes Pain,
With Age comes Disgust,
And with Fire come Steam.
So You brought me to my knee,
And pried the Words out of my lips,
Nervous albeit, but still the Words,
And as some kind of custom.
You said Yes,
And then spit in my face,
Kicked me down,
And cut out my Heart,
Ripped it to shreds in front of my face,
And burned it.
So now here I am,
Speaking new Words, swearing Myself to you,
Aging quickly, Maturing faster,
and showing You all I can...
But With Love Comes Pain,
Comes Heart Break,
Comes the Worst thing of all Life,
Different from what I Spoke,
And then You hung Me, and left,
My eyes Watching,
My Fingers ripping rope,
A free hand Desperately trying to Grab You
And save you from the world.
So Came the Death of my Heart,
The Fire just a Steam,
And I Cried out Your name,
I Desperately tried to say Three words.
All that came was the one Thought
That would ruin me,
And so It Spoke.
A Burning Fury crying to me about how I was Worthless,
But my Attention was faded to You.
As you met the Lips of the other.
